Norditropin FlexPro Pen is a prescription medication used to treat growth hormone deficiency in children and adults. It contains somatropin as the active ingredient, which is a synthetic version of human growth hormone.
Composition:
The active ingredient in Norditropin FlexPro Pen is somatropin, also known as recombinant human growth hormone (r-hGH). It also contains a number of inactive ingredients, including mannitol, histidine, poloxamer 188, and phenol.
Uses:
Norditropin FlexPro Pen is primarily used to treat growth hormone deficiency in children and adults. It promotes growth and development by stimulating protein synthesis, facilitating the growth of bones, muscles, and other organs, and regulating carbohydrate and fat metabolism.
How to use:
Norditropin FlexPro Pen should be injected subcutaneously (under the skin) using the pre-filled pen device. The injection site should be rotated daily to avoid tissue damage. Norditropin FlexPro Pen can be self-administered or given by a healthcare professional.
Dosage:
The dosage of Norditropin FlexPro Pen varies based on the patient’s age, weight, and medical condition. The recommended starting dose for children is 0.024-0.034 mg/kg/day, and for adults, it ranges from 0.004-0.0125 mg/kg/day. The dosage may need to be adjusted based on patient response and side effects.
Mechanism of action:
Norditropin FlexPro Pen works by stimulating the production and release of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) in the liver and other tissues. IGF-1 promotes cell division and growth, which helps increase bone density and muscle mass and regulate carbohydrate and fat metabolism.
Storage conditions:
Norditropin FlexPro Pen should be stored in a refrigerator between 36°F and 46°F (2°C – 8°C). The pen device should not be frozen or exposed to extreme heat or sunlight. Do not use Norditropin FlexPro Pen if it has expired or if the solution is cloudy or discolored.
Precautions:
Norditropin FlexPro Pen should not be used in patients with active malignancy, closed epiphyses (bone growth plates), or hypersensitivity to somatropin or any of the inactive ingredients. It should be used with caution in patients with diabetes or a history of cancer.
Interactions:
Norditropin FlexPro Pen may interact with certain medications, including insulin, glucocorticoids, and sex steroids. Tell your doctor about any medications or supplements you are taking before starting treatment with Norditropin FlexPro Pen.
Contraindications:
Norditropin FlexPro Pen is contraindicated in patients with active malignancy, closed epiphyses, or hypersensitivity to somatropin or any of the inactive ingredients.
Side effects:
Common side effects of Norditropin FlexPro Pen include injection site reactions, headaches, joint pain, and swelling. Other possible side effects include increased pressure in the brain, scoliosis, and type 2 diabetes. Serious side effects are rare but may include an allergic reaction or tumor growth.
Overdose:
Overdose of Norditropin FlexPro Pen can lead to symptoms such as headache, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and increased pressure in the brain. If an overdose is suspected, seek immediate medical attention.

My 15 son before treatment was only averaging 1 inch a year in growth and we were told, he had actually stopped growing since age 11 at this time, he was 13 years old. He has been on Norditropin since December 2014 and has grown almost 5 inches and is now more confident then ever, he even has a girlfriend now! lol

Although relatively more expensive than other options, it is the most convenient alternative for parents with Turner’s Syndrome in pediatric use. Also, there is a possibility to perform the injection after the first 15-20 mins of sleep to avoid child’s resistance of treatment 6 days/wk. Now crossing treatment year 3, growth charts continue demonstrating significant annual gains.

have had a good experience

The product arrived ahead of scheduled delivery. Bottles have good seals and long expiration dates. My son grew about 1 inch taller after 6-month usage. That’s not bad.
