Description
Leqvio (inclisiran) is a prescription medicine used to lower LDL-C (low-density lipoprotein cholesterol) levels in adults with certain types of high cholesterol (primary hyperlipidemia). Leqvio is a small interfering RNA (siRNA) that blocks the production of proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin type 9 (PCSK9), a protein that increases LDL-C levels.
Uses
Leqvio is used in adults with primary hyperlipidemia, including heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH), in addition to diet and maximally tolerated statin therapy.
How to Use
Leqvio is administered as a subcutaneous injection by a healthcare professional. The recommended dosage is 284 milligrams (mg) initially, again at 3 months, and then every 6 months.
