Indications: Qitrope is indicated for the treatment of growth hormone deficiency in children and adults, short stature associated with Turner syndrome, chronic renal insufficiency, and Prader-Willi syndrome.
Mechanism of Action: Qitrope mimics the action of natural growth hormone in the body. It stimulates growth and development, regulates metabolism, and regulates the growth and maintenance of muscle and bone.
Dosage and Administration: The dosage of Qitrope varies depending on the age, weight, and medical condition of the patient. The recommended dosage for children with growth hormone deficiency is 0.025-0.035 mg/kg/day, administered subcutaneously once daily. For adults with growth hormone deficiency, the recommended dose is 0.15-0.30 mg/day, administered subcutaneously once daily. The injection site should be rotated daily to avoid lipoatrophy.
Effectiveness: Qitrope has been shown to be effective in increasing growth velocity in children with growth hormone deficiency and in improving body composition and metabolic parameters in adults with growth hormone deficiency.
Side Effects: The most common side effects of Qitrope include injection site reaction, headache, and joint pain. Other less common side effects include swelling, muscle pain, nausea, vomiting, and hypertension.
Contraindications: Qitrope should not be used in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to growth hormone or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should also not be used in patients with active malignancy or with a history of malignancy, as well as in patients with closed epiphyses. Physicians should carefully consider the risks and benefits of Qitrope therapy in patients with diabetes, hypopituitarism, and renal or hepatic impairment.
